LOWER SACKVILLE, NS – Editorial cartoonist and music lover John Kennedy is back with a new collection and it’s pure platinum.

The show is called Rock Art and features cartoon renditions of famous bands from the Rolling Stones to Metallica.

Music has fascinated Kennedy since he was young and he was a political cartoonist in Ireland, but now he has a project that has allowed him to mix his two passions.

“I am a huge fan of music,” Kennedy said. “I’ve been a huge fan of music my whole life and politics can depress you a lot, so that’s refreshing.”

“This is the first of my five exhibitions,” Kennedy said. “The purpose of these four exhibitions is to raise funds for my last show, and this last show will hopefully be made up of famous Canadian personalities. But the whole plan is to get them to sign their drawings. – from here to Vancouver to Toronto – will directly help the homeless. “

It is a cause close to the heart of Kennedy.

“I know what happens to some people; I know what it’s like to be homeless and because I was homeless myself, and I have this burning ambition to give back.”

Jim Robson is the President of the Cobequid Radio Society, which operates a community radio station in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia called CIOE 97.5 FM.

“I called John in my remarks last night as the Bruce MacKinnon of Ireland,” Robson said. “He has this unique ability, this unique creativity, and you add a big heart to the creativity, and you have a very special person.”
