He freelance has produced editorial cartoons for the Montreal Star before being hired full time in 1967. Five years later, he moved to Montreal Gazette, where he still draws two cartoons a week. Believing that “no person or thing is ever perfect,” Mosher defends the satirical role of cartoonists, despite the controversy and criticism that cartoons can generate. “We all have flaws and weaknesses,†he once said. “Can we admit it while laughing at our weaknesses?”
Mosher has drawn over 14,000 cartoons; some appeared in Time, The Atlantic monthly, the International edition of the New York Times, punch and National Lampoon. He also won two National Newspaper Awards, a Gold National Magazine Award and was the youngest person to be inducted into the Canadian News Hall of Fame at 43. He was also inducted into the Canadian Cartoonists Hall of Fame, is President Emeritus of the Association. Canadian cartoonists and was named an Officer of the Order of Canada (2002).
